Thursday evenings, June 18 - August 20, 2026: GWCC's Irish Social (Set/Céilí) Dance Classes in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, open to all Times: 7-8pm (basics) and 8-9:30pm (continuing experience) Venue: Pinecrest Local Park, 301 St. Lawrence Street, Silver Spring, MD 20901 Admission: $50/10 weeks, register & Pay at class, cash/check preferred, credit accepted. Square dance intro session for all skill levels from 2:45pm - 3pmin the (climate controlled) Ballroom Backroom at Glen Echo Park. Then, Square Dance from 3:00-5:30 pm.caller Caroline Barnes leads a rousing square dance to rollicking music played by Strings on Wings (Todd Clewell-guitar/fiddle, Barb Schmid-fiddle, andJ eff Chumley-banjo). Short hydration break midway, but mostly FUN, lively Square Dancing the whole time. All ages welcome, no partner, prior dance experience, or special outfit needed. 7-9:30 PM (Intro Lesson: 6:30 PM) Tom Spilsbury calls to the music of Phoenix: Steve Hickman, Marty Taylor and Bobby LaRose. Face masks are optional. Venue has windows and filter fans for circulation and ventilation. Please bring own water bottle. Snacks to share are welcome if you bring napkins+appropriate paper goods+utensils and plan to clean up after snack time.
