7-9 PM Admission - FREE
A good old-fashioned acoustic group sing: chorus songs, chanteys, traditional, standards, contemporary, or original songs, all genres (well maybe not heavy metal). A warm, welcoming place to sing together, add harmony (or just listen) or even try out a new song. Bring lyrics if you need them. We'll take turns around the room singing, whether unaccompanied, or grab an instrument and let's sing! No sound system. Just us folks. Non-performance oriented, so don't feel shy. Great room, great acoustics.Seasonal songs welcome but not required.

CircleSinging Baltimore is part of an international community of singers who share a love of singing in community. CircleSinging is an improvisational choral style of singing created by Bobby McFerrin. Facilitated by Paris Kern, you will be lead in parts created on the spot. There will be singing games, maybe a song and LOTS of singing in harmony. Paris' background in traditional folk flavors the improv skill she gained though several years of study with Bobby McFerrin and members of Voicestra .
Mistake Free zone!! no experience needed, just a generous spirit of love of song.
Donation of $10 for space rental( no one turned away from lack of funds)

Sacred Harp Sing
Sing Sacred Harp the third Sunday of each month at 4:00 PM in the schoolhouse beside the Community Building at 17801 Meetinghouse Road, Sandy Spring, Maryland; pot-luck follows at 6:00. Books are available. Contact Dave Greene at email@example.com or call 301-570-3283. All are welcome; there is no charge. Sacred Harp songs are 4-part a-cappello on a familiar scale with almost familiar names for the notes ("fa-sol-la-fa-sol-la-me fa" for the familiar "do-re-me-fa-sol-la-ti-do") and round, triangular, square, and diamond shapes (one need not worry about the names or shapes) for the familiar round shapes of notes (hence the alternative name: "Shape Note Singing" for "Sacred Harp Singing"). Sacred Harp was taught by early traveling ministers to congregations that had no organ or piano; often the beautiful harmonies had religious phrases.
