BFMS Music and Dance Fest
At Patterson Park near the Pagoda! 12-6 PM
Bring a picnic or buy tasty food from the vendors. This event we will feature Cajun, Swing, Old-timey Music, Steel Drum, Irish and much, much more! In addition we will have Charm City Rapper Sword Dance, as well as other dancing. There is still space for more crafts and non-profits. This event is in honor of International Music Day. This year, the Baltimore Folk Music Society is proud to participate again in Free Fall Baltimore by offering one Wednesday American Contra and Square dance evening absolutely FREE. Perry Shafran calls to Organic Family Band: Michael Raitzyk (guitar), Jakob Raitzyk (fiddle), Rebekah Gellar (fiddle), and Judith Gellar (French horn). New Dancer Orientation Workshop at 7:30.

The BFMS Family Dance is geared towards young children and
families. All ages are encouraged to attend. Dances are all
taught and dancing is to live music.This event is enjoyed by
children, parents, and grandparents as they dance and sing
together. $4 for member, $6 for non-members, children under
age 3 are free. 5:00 to 6:30 PM
There is a potluck from 6:30-7:20 Come and join in some good
food and conversation.

Gentle English" are English country dances from all periods selected to be gentle on the knees, hips, feet, and backs of the dancers. BFMS plans to hold three or four Gentle English dances a year.

Other BFMS Events and Activities
The Friendly Coffeehouse Open Mic is a BFMS-sponsored event, taking place on Third Fridays each month at 7 pm. It offers a friendly, supportive atmosphere for acoustic musicians, poets, storytellers and other folkies.
A community of musicians, dancers, and listeners who love the traditional music of Ireland.
The Catoctin music and dance weekend getaway gives dancers and musicians of all ages a chance to attend a family-friendly weekend featuring folk music, crafts and dancing in a beautiful mountain setting.
BFMS board meetings are almost always on the first Tuesday of the month and are open to BFMS members. If you would like to attend, please contact the BFMS President via email. president at bfms.org
